'anything like real life'? mou, lips!: no, we don't like so much campari. we prefer a good red wine. :-) but... yes what you imagine is near reality...we like to sit at the favourite bar drinkin' and/or eating something, coffee, wine, fruit juices... listening muzak! andrea: the real life is rich of troubles... anxieties... stress... i must live with "hands into the pockets, and always with open eyes"... i spent big part of the week teaching computer science and working as programmer... i hate to spent time for business people! the late night is wholly dedicated to musicals listening and creation with ema for mou, lips!... and also playing ugly jazz in some clubs... well not so ugly... : ) my bass is funny... ___________________________________________________________________________ Bill: It sounds to me like you produce a well-engineered record without getting bogged down in unecessary details . how do you accomplish that? mou, lips!: thanks. we simply play as we feel at moment. __________________________________________________________________________ Bill: Are there any american jazz musicians you find inspiring or relevant? mou, lips!: we've fall in love with 'Resolution' of John Coltrane ("A Love Supreme" / John Coltrane - Jowcol Music [BMI]) and we've found so much inspirations from John Coltrane, Charles Mingus and Bill Frisell. Surely they are the american jazz musicians that both loves. andrea: i listen so much jazz.... and so i find inspiring many "jazz" musicians... from John Zorn to Sun Ra... naming each of them should be boring..:-) i must thanks so much bill frisell... 'cause when i was 13\14 i was listening to Bass Desires... (marc johnson, john scofield, bill frisell, jack de johnette...) .. and i was surprised by this: the way to do a guitar solo of john scofield was really nice... strange sounds... with really great note over the harmony etc... lovely... but suddenly i heard something strange... and i was really surprised!! .. it was a "new" musical sensation for me... and it was the start of a bill frisell solo... he started the solo not with a difficult jazz scale ... but doing with the guitar a sound like a mosquito... and it was great!. also i love the way to compose music of Mingus... it's amazing. i feel a little bit like him... i don't know why.... and we love the mysticism of j.coltrane... and the genuiness [?] of singer like j.mitchell... i think it's what we try to do: research-love-genuiness-spontaneity-mysticism.... _________________________________________________________________________ Bill: What do you think of Carlo Gesauldo? mou, lips!: -:.-:"".-.! ah! yes...
